Ok I know I haven’t updated in the longest time but there are 1001 things that are totally busting up my ass right now. Am having trouble keeping my head from exploding and I now carry this lovely little bottle from Origins everywhere I go.
It’s a lifesaver. Actually I’d call it more like a sanity saver. I mean, it won’t save my life. I’ll still be well alive without it but probably not sane.
Well ok fine, it keeps me more sane then if I didn’t have it. This directed at the voices of my friends that I know will say, ‘You think you’re sane??!’.
Look I know I’m not sane alright. I named this website what it is for a reason. It’s all relative aight?

Am back from an amazingly tiring, but still superbly amazing, trip around Turkey. There was so much info overload that I’m finding slightly difficult to recall on the spot every single town/place/ruin I went to. But I have pictures. Plenty of pictures. And my printed itinerary. And the internet. So I’m all good.

I found time to relax on the beach while I was there. It was great chilling before dinner listening to music coming outta my blackberry.
Right now I’m trying to get back to the groove of things. Being gone for so long and having every single minute of my waking hours occupied has actually managed to put work so far behind in my mind that I don’t mind jumping back into things.
My current obsession, though, is Californication. I watched it on the plane coming back from Istanbul and am just about hooked. Y’know it’s funny how I love cartoons but when it comes to real life series, I tend to gravitate towards the not-so-fluffy ones.
Let me put it this way, I was more than willing to spend money buying the box set for Californication and Weeds but I didn’t get Lipstick Jungle. I love Kirby and all but I’ll get that off someone else who’s already downloaded it.
It’s one of those things I can’t explain to people when they ask. I had this conversation with a friend yesterday about music. I actually don’t really love the music you hear on the radio but I know I look like the type who would. Nothing wrong with that. My preferences just lies elsewhere. However, I’m the way I look because it does get me where I want to be. Plus I’m not a big advocate of stereotypes. Did I just contradict myself there?
Oh well.
I was gonna write about something else altogether but it seems I got sidetracked. No surprise there.
Yeah, oh well.

Am back in Penang now for one night before taking off on a 10 day holiday to Turkey. Actually looking at the itinerary, a couple of days are spent traveling. Get this, I fly up from KL to Penang only to go down to Singapore to transit before flying all the way up to Dubai for another transit (passing both KL and Penang again) and then finally reach Istanbul.
It don’t make sense but apparently because we are going as a group we should all check in together in Penang. Although I insisted that I’m NOT flying back to Singapore then to Penang then flying back to KL. I’m taking off straight to KL from Changi man. It’s just too loco.
Good thing about this overnighter in Penang is that I just ate Char Koay Teow. Yumminess.
Yes so as of tomorrow, I’ll be on another continent hopefully listening to an English speaking guide enlightening me about all things Turkey. As much as I can digest on a vacation anyway.
I hope I get to eat yummy kebabs! (Ok that sounds wrong but I really do mean kebabs as in skewered meat as in… ok will stop digging hole deeper now)

Every year when fall/winter season hits, I find myself walking around the stores wishing I was living in a country which has, well, fall and winter. I miss wearing winter clothes!
The trenches, jackets, sweaters and pullovers all look so wonderful. I miss wrapping myself up and layering clothes. It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve come back. 5 years since I’ve had a winter!
But not surprisingly it hasn’t been 5 years since I’ve bought winter clothes. Well fall clothes. I haven’t gone out and bought full on winter jackets but I am a new proud owner or several thick-ish zip sweaters and a military style jacket. I couldn’t help myself!
My justification? I’m going to Turkey and the weather there will be between 15 - 22 degrees celcius. Good enough reason for me I reckon!
Man I hope it gets cold there. I really do. Well not cold like the time I went to Beijing in the middle of their winter cold. That was over the top. I didn’t think my ears would feel normal again. Actually, I didn’t think I would get feeling back in my ears again.
I shudder at the memory. Mosty because I was totally unprepared and I still hold a grudge against my parents for saying, ‘No we’re definitely not going to China so you don’t have to bring back your winter clothes’ just before I was packing to come home from Melbourne over the summer hols.
Oh well, at least when I do go back to a country that has 4 seasons I’m a little bit more fashionably prepared!

I was just chatting with a South African over facebook and while that was happening, Globetrekker on Discovery Travel & Living decided they’re visiting South Africa in tonight’s episode.
Coincidence?
What was more coincidental was that before the show started, we were just discussing other stuff which lead to a brief chat about, well, coincidences. In his words, ‘terry godkind’s wizard seventh rule states “there are no coincidences”‘
Yes we’re both fantasy book fans.
And I retorted with my favourite belief. That things always happen for a reason. Just that sometimes it takes quite a while before you finally see the reason.
And then he goes, ‘but who dictates that reason? and how do we reason what qualifies as reason’. Whoa. Deep.
And then facebook chat started to fuck up like how it always does and we started talking about nonsense that, as usual, cracks me up.
Anyway, the fact that the show was about South Africa is one of those things that I can allow to be just a coincidence. I’ve had many of these things happen that is just, what I’d like to think of, as God’s way of having a bit of fun so I’m not paying much attention to it at all.
Good thing is that I get to hear the South African accent again (erm spoken by the white ones? omg i sound racist but I don’t know how else to explain it) because I love it and I think it’s awesome to hear
I also realise I may have visited South Africa before but there’s definitely plenty of places I’ve missed. Maybe I should make another trip… Just maybe. Or maybe I should figure out my own country first.

Ok these photos look so cool and canggih and you’d think you need super 733t photoshop skills but you don’t. You just need to go to Photofunia. It’s quite fun if you’re a bit bored in the office and a little bit sleepy cos it’s a Monday…

Ok back to work. The effects of my double shot soy latte are wearing off…. zzzzzzz…. Halps…

I want this:-

But I just bought this:-

So I feel bad if I buy the lens but I really want to buy it for my trip end of the month. Oh yes, I’m going to TURKEY!! Woohoo! Well, I’m most likely going. I mean it’s about 80% confirmed.
But I don’t regret buying my blackberry. I love it! Now I just have to close my eyes and squirm a bit when I hand over my credit card to the camera shop guy…
Photography. I love it but it’s a bloody expensive hobby! But also so absolutely amazing…

So Astro just started showing Lipstick Jungle. Have heard of it for a while now so obviously was curious enough to watch it.
The first episode was last week and honestly I kinda thought it sucked. I felt the characters were a bit flat and lacked depth. Like I could see what kinda people they were trying to potray but not quite getting there. But am pretty sure after a few episodes I’ll warm up to them. It’s usually like that with new shows and new characters.
However, there is one reason why I like watching it. His name is Robert Buckley or ‘Kirby’ in the show. Hehehe….

I’m such a sucker for these cute boyish types with hot bods….

Ah the constant struggle that is a Monday morning. I don’t think I’ve ever come into work on Mondays going, ‘Yay! I absolutely love today!’.
Right now I’m running on a tall double shot soy latte to go from Starbucks. There isn’t any other way, really. If one day I find out I’m coffee intolerant I’ll scream so loud my mum could hear me in Penang. Heck even my cousin would hear me in Hong Kong. They’d hear:-
‘WHY DID YOU TAKE AWAY… MAH COFFEEEEEEEE!!!!’. Complete with a note of anguish as I trail the last few ‘EEE’s’ in that sentence.
Ah well. Nothing wrong with a bit of drama. Am hoping it’ll keep me more alert. On my toes, y’know?
Right, I’m rambling. I’m off. In more ways than one.

I finally got one of my wisdom teeth removed. This had better be the last of the problems on that side of my mouth. Didn’t take that long and thank god the anesthesia kept me numb enough.
It was weird leaving the dentist because the left side of my mouth was numb and to add to that, I had the hiccups. Wtf. I don’t know how hiccups come about but that was seriously the wrong moment to get them. Firstly I couldn’t really open my mouth because I was biting down on a bit of gauze to soak up the blood. Secondly I was woozy and just wanted to go home.
And then I was trying to remember what the dentist was telling me. He said, ‘Only eat warm and cold food’. At that time I was like, ‘Wah…? Then what do I eat…?’
Now that I’m home and my judgement not clouded over by drugs, I’ve figured out that I can’t eat HOT food. Oh riiiiight.
Oh yes and it was a monster of a tooth I had. Seriously! No wonder it was hurting so bad.
