1/4 less wise

September 3rd, 2008

I finally got one of my wisdom teeth removed. This had better be the last of the problems on that side of my mouth. Didn’t take that long and thank god the anesthesia kept me numb enough.

It was weird leaving the dentist because the left side of my mouth was numb and to add to that, I had the hiccups. Wtf. I don’t know how hiccups come about but that was seriously the wrong moment to get them. Firstly I couldn’t really open my mouth because I was biting down on a bit of gauze to soak up the blood. Secondly I was woozy and just wanted to go home.

And then I was trying to remember what the dentist was telling me. He said, ‘Only eat warm and cold food’. At that time I was like, ‘Wah…? Then what do I eat…?’

Now that I’m home and my judgement not clouded over by drugs, I’ve figured out that I can’t eat HOT food. Oh riiiiight.

Oh yes and it was a monster of a tooth I had. Seriously! No wonder it was hurting so bad.

So hungers…

August 18th, 2008

I’m hungry and my tooth hurts. My freaking wisdom tooth. I’ve asked this question a million and thirty five times.

Should I take it out??

I’m such a chicken. Actually I’m more worried about not being able to eat for the whole day. Which I really should just bear with cos it’s one day compared to years of being free from wisdom teeth laments.

I need to figure out dinner. Sustainable dinner. Porridge is yummy but I get hungry in like fourty two minutes. Yes, I know I like to throw absolutely random numbers out. It’s my thing.

Pretty things that costs quite a bit

August 2nd, 2008

And to add on to my recent retail therapy craze, I bought a RM200+ bottle of body shampoo. Which admittedly smells very nice. But is also admittedly very expensive for body shampoo. It’s a 1 litre bottle though. So now I have a LOT of nice smelling body shampoo.

Which still costs too much for body shampoo.

And guess what I want to buy now? The iPhone 3G! But I can’t buy it outright here or in Singapore. Well I can, but it doesn’t come with support or warranty in case anything goes wrong. I want to spend the money but I can’t! This is not good retail therapy!!

Checked out the Singapore Apple website and it says that Singtel will be selling it soon. Didn’t say when though. But Singapore is normally efficient so I guess if it’s on the website, it should be happening soon.

I tried to check out the Australia Apple online store too but it got me even more frustrated because it doesn’t say how much it cost and won’t let me buy it online.

Which is probably a good thing considering the state I’m in right now. I’d probably buy it no matter how much it costs. Ok time to get the plan in motion so that I can get out of this rut and also maybe own a pretty toy at the same time.

Lost

July 29th, 2008

I walked into Metrojaya today to buy a towel. I had vouchers to use and I figured a towel would be an excellent thing to buy seeing that a couple of my own are pretty old.

I walked into Metrojaya and found a towel. Then I figured hey, it’s kinda cheap. Why not get another one?

I walked around the neighbouring section of Metrojaya and came across bedsheets and quilt covers. I have 2. I use one while the other one gets washed. It’s a good system. I don’t need another one though it would be nice.

I walked closer to the shelves and the sales girl. “Can I help you, Miss?” “No, just looking.” Ooh 30% discount.

5 minutes later I was asking her what’s the difference between cotton, egyptian cotton and thread counts in inches and cm.

15 minutes later I walked out of Metrojaya with 2 towels and 400 (per square inch) thread count Egyptian cotton queen size quilt cover, fitted sheet and pillow cases. The trip to the store that was supposed to cost me RM10 at most (cos of the vouchers) ended up costing me RM550+. And that was after the discount.

This is what happens to me when I lose my way. I don’t function properly, I get through the day like a robotic zombie and I don’t eat. I already fit more comfortably in my too tight jeans which incidentally is something I bought during my last case of ‘I’ve-fallen-and-I-can’t-get-up’ so they’re a size smaller than my usual.

But who cares right? As usual I’ll trudge on and handle whatever else is thrown at me.

I’m just tired of smiling. For now.

Crave the calm

July 21st, 2008

Last week, I had just about the worst week at work EVER. I was stressed out of my brain dealing with things which really shouldn’t be that much of an issue. What a difference people make to the equation when it comes to problem solving and ideals.

I’m glad it’s over. Hopefully.

Disapproving fish… disapproves of everything

July 13th, 2008

This has got to be the funniest looking fish EVER. If I were scuba diving and I came across this, I’d choke myself to death cos I’d be laughing so hard I wouldn’t be able to control myself. I mean seriously, LOOK AT THIS FISH?!!

It’s all saying, ‘Look, I don’t know what your mum taught you young lady but it’s frightfully rude to laugh and point at others! Now stop it, I say, stop it!’

Picture from National Geographic and photographer Birgitte Wilms but I found it on Cuteoverload.com. Where else?

Edit: Btw, this fish is called the Bat Fish

Panda Screenshot

July 9th, 2008

I should’ve taken this when I posted about finding a network called PandAMalaysia but at that time I forgot how to take screenshots with a Mac. But I remember now and I present to you…

Ta-da! Proof that I did not make up the network of Pandas!

Oh and as you can see, I’ve found default again. Woohoo! But I’m pretty sure he/she has moved the router cos I’m now surfing precariously on one or two bars and I cannot seem to get better reception no matter where I go.

The two bars you see in the screenshot is actually considered good now bearing in mind that I used to get full reception. I even resorted to standing on my balcony which resulted in an even worse result of not even finding the network.

I really need to get up Streamyx’s ass to fix my own bloody internet which I pay monthly for!! Pieces of shits *grumbles grumbles*
